चेन्नई (Rns): एक महिला ने कोयंबटूर शहर के पुलिस आयुक्त के पास शिकायत दर्ज कराई है कि उसके छोटे बेटे को अवैध पुलिस हिरासत के दौरान इस तरह प्रताड़ित किया गया कि उसकी किडनी खराब हो गई। कोयंबटूर की धनलक्ष्मी ने कोयंबटूर शहर के पुलिस आयुक्त के पास शिकायत दर्ज कराई कि उनके बेटे जो आर. जयकुमार (22) को पुलिस ने प्रताड़ित किया है। उसने कहा कि पुलिस प्रताड़ना के बाद युवक को किडनी की बीमारी हो गई और उसे डायलिसिस कराना पड़ा। पुलिस ने 16 सितंबर को दो लोगों की हत्या के प्रयास से जुड़े मामले में जयकुमार और सात अन्य को हिरासत में लिया था। दोनों फरवरी 2023 में कोयंबटूर में गोकुल की हत्या से जुड़े मामले में आरोपी थे। धनलक्ष्मी ने आरोप लगाया कि 16 सितंबर को पुलिस ने उनके बेटे को उठाया। इसके बाद उसके बारे में कोई जानकारी नहीं थी, लेकिन पूछताछ करने पर पता चला कि वह कट्टूर थाने में था। जब परिवार वहां पहुंचा तो जयकुमार घायल अवस्था में मिला। उसके चेहरे पर चोट के निशान थे। धनलक्ष्मी ने आरोप लगाया कि पुलिस अवैध हिरासत में उसे कई जगहों पर ले गई और उनका मुंह बंद कर लोहे की पाइप से बेरहमी से पिटाई की, जिससे उनकी किडनी खराब हो गई। महिला ने अपनी शिकायत में कहा, “पुलिस उसे अवैध हिरासत में कई जगहों पर ले गई और लोहे की पाइप से उसे पीटा। पुलिस ने उसे पेट, जांघों और कूल्हे पर मारा। मेरे बेटे को पेशाब करते समय खून भी आ रहा था। उसे तिरुपुर के सरकारी अस्पताल ले जाया गया। वहां से कोयंबटूर सरकारी मेडिकल कॉलेज अस्पताल ले जाया गया और अब उनकी तबीयत खराब हो गई है और उसे डायलिसिस पर रखा गया है।” शिकायतकर्ता ने मीडियाकर्मियों को बताया कि डॉक्टरों का कहना है कि जयकुमार की किडनी खराब हो गई है। कोयंबटूर शहर के पुलिस आयुक्त वी. बालाकृष्णन ने कहा कि सहायक आयुक्त स्तर का एक अधिकारी पुलिस के खिलाफ आरोपों की जांच करेगा।
